Ahoy fellow castaways. Just thought I'd kind of try my best to let everyone know what the hell is going on with the forum and all that, mainly because Mantis made me. Basically it's that time of year again where forum bills were due to be paid and all that fun stuff that everyone loves so much. Not a problem you may think we're all lottery winners here just pay the damn thing and be done with it. Well turns out that it's not as simple as that as our long and mysteriously absent leader has reset the password to said account so we can't login to pay the damn thing can we. Numerous attempts to contact the good man have been made, but unfortunately to no avail, like you all know he has simply vanished off the face of the earth. So Mantis has kindly set this place up until we can sort something out. That make sense to anyone? I'm not sure I understand it myself tbh, but hopefully we don't lose anyone in the migration, so many parallels to real life events don't you think, if only our Syrian friends knew of our hardships. Anyway please tell everyone you can about the temporary home, no man left behind and all that. We're a small enough community as it is and I wouldn't like to see it get any smaller.  |

I was looking for youse on steam but I think I have a really old group or something.
Does Mantis have that backup knocking about?
Like I said the other day, I'm willing to pay for a webspace but I have no idea how to set it up!
I'll be home from work in a bit so we can discuss in a biz!

How inconvenient.  I was just about to post a super long post about MGS 2 as well when the forum went down. It's kind of lucky I switched halfway through to writing it in word other wise I would have lost it all. |

The backup option I had was just for the database settings and not of the actual database unfortunately. I think all of that is controlled within the host website which we're locked out of. The forum group on Steam only has 28 members, one of which is you, Wolfy, so if you guys know of anybody not signed up who might miss out on the news please do update them. People can sign up here to stay up to date on what's happening. |

Glad my account wasn't suspended anyway as it said when trying to go to PWF... I spent a few minutes trying to work out what I could have said to upset anyone!

Glad to be back! Sounds like a good idea Wolfy to have a different webspace now if Dave's really done and then Mantis and Ken can have the server keys end of problem. Weren't there two forum groups? I'll have to check the Steam list.

It's not looking good that we'll be able to get in touch with Dave at this point. So a fresh start might be necessary, sorry to all those with the enormous post counts and fond memories.
Start considering what we might call a new place!

Okay, so we've had a little chat and decided to roll with a brand new site for the mean time. If Dave ever gets in touch with us we'll just revert back to using the Preys-World domain, but until then we're going to use a brand new site and fresh database. That means we lose every thread and post though, so I hope people don't mind starting with a totally clean slate?
Any suggestions on a name for the new digs?

I do worry if something's happened with Dave. It's been 10 months or so since he last posted on PW and he's never got in touch with anyone as far as I know - plus his last twitter entry was December last year around the same time - I don't see him deliberately going under the radar all this time without updating at least one or two of us about what's happening.
I forget which forum members used to have direct contact with him - I know 2 or 3 used to get in touch with him in years gone by when he vanished for a few weeks.
